THE METROPOLITAN TRIBE Before !!!! is a unique professional association of writers, visual artists and creative individuals in related fields (e.g. designers, craftspeople, media types, sculptors, composers). The organization was established in 2001 by creative visionaries who believe in the power of collaboration.  Through the various services and activities of The Metropolitan Tribe, artists are brought together in positive, non-competitive, collaborative ways. Members are empowered to share knowledge and resources, and the collaborative environment they create helps them achieve success in their lives and careers. Membership is currently free of charge to qualified artists (see  "Membership Information" below).

WHAT IS A TRIBE?  A "Tribe" is simply a group of people who voluntarily share information and resources, and who work together in collaborative ways. People have used tribes to gain strength, success, and to thrive, for more than 10,000 years.

The Metropolitan Tribe interprets this ancient model for a modern setting.  The organization's activities are all designed to foster member to member connections and collaborations.  The awesome sum of our membership's combined wisdom, skills, and experiences help each member reach their professional goals more easily, quickly and with more satisfaction.  In the words of the ancient, Klamath Indian tribe: " Ha-sat' waaY - naat cii-wapk - we help each other; we will live."
